Vodka ingredients?
Chopin Vodka
Although made only from one ingredient per bottle, Chopin Vodka has the following flavors or selections derived from 4 distillations that you may choose from: potatoes, rye, and wheat.
Grey Goose Vodka
Made from two ingredients per bottle, Grey Goose Vodka uses the following ingredients from France: soft winter wheat and Spring water.
Location and History
Chopin Vodka
Chopin Vodka established its brand in Poland, as the first ever luxury vodka in the alcohol market. This was way back 1992 when the concept of a luxurious vodka has not been attempted yet by any vodka brand.
Since the brand’s establishment (and to date), Chopin Vodka has not yet ventured on flavored vodka or mixes, staying true to their belief that the ingredients are to be enjoyed on its own.
Grey Goose Vodka
Grey Goose Vodka can be found in France, wherein each and every vodka-manufacturing steps of harvesting, milling, distillation, and bottling are done.
You may ask: why France? Hailed as the world’s gastronomy capital, France is the ideal location for a food or beverage brand to broaden its connection and reach.
Strategically located in France, Grey Goose Vodka has further sharpened their credibility when it comes to premium quality vodka.
As two of the premium vodka brands in the market today, Chopin Vodka and Grey Goose Vodka have their own strengths and are unique in their own ways.
If you are into straight up vodka and its classic taste, go for Chopin, but if you are more on the playful side and prefer or would want to try flavored vodka, go for Grey Goose. Below is an in-depth comparison of the two brands.
Which is which?
Chopin Vodka
- Single-ingredient vodka
- Uses homegrown ingredients such as potato, wheat, and rye
- Full-bodied flavor
- No artificial ingredients
- Distills their own vodka
- One-of-a-kind vodka selections
Grey Goose Vodka
- Two-ingredient vodka
- Available in a wide selection of fun and unique flavors

- Free from genetically modified organisms
- Gluten-free vodka
Variations and Flavors
Choosing the flavor and variation is one of the most crucial factors to consider when choosing the best bottle or brand for you.
Chopin Vodka
Definitely worth the hype, Chopin’s potato-flavored vodka is full-bodied in taste, while Chopin’s rye-flavored vodka gives an icy, vibrant taste, with a short and crisp finish. Chopin’s wheat-flavored vodka, on the other hand, has a light, sweet, and gentle flavor.
Grey Goose Vodka
Grey Goose Vodka explores and celebrates other flavors such as the following: La Poire, L’Orange, Le Citron, La Vanille, Le Melon, and Cherry Noir.
The Verdict
To further emphasize on the difference of Chopin’s Vodka and Grey Goose Vodka, it is important to remember that Poland-based Chopin’s Vodka uses a single-ingredient on their vodka whether it’s potato, rye, or wheat. On the other hand, France-based Grey Goose Vodka uses two ingredients, soft winter wheat and spring water from a region in France.
When it comes to flavors, Chopin’s Vodka is leaning more on the classic vodka side, while Grey Goose Vodka explores and celebrates unique and fun flavors on some of their vodka selections. The decision is simple, there is no clear-cut winner unless you’ve decided how you really like your vodka. You want to enjoy pure and classic vodka flavors? Go for Chopin. But if you’re more into playful flavor fusions, then Grey Goose is probably the choice for you. So, how do you like your vodka?
You didn’t say if Chopin was Gluten free or if there are any calories. Are these vodka’s good when on a ketogenic plan?
Hi Linda,
According to their official website, Chopin Vodka is 100% gluten-free, as the distillation process removes the gluten from the final drink. Check here for more detail.
I have never trued Chopin Vodka but will definitely check it out while on the other hand GreyGoose is absolutely the best.. smooth and a unique taste to satisfy any vodka loving person. The one thing I have found is that GreyGoose doesn’t give you a Hangover. I’ve been drinking this forever the past 3-4 years and when I overindulge I never get that nasty Hangover.. I gave up drinking beer because the hangovers were crazy.. I still enjoy a cold brew but my go to drink will always be GreyGoose.
