Refrigerators, unless it is a very fine one, tend to suffer motor vibrations when the compressor is on. Theoretically, this will shorten the life of the wine. However knowing how wine was transported historically, and knowing how well it lasted I think this is a minor quibble.
A bigger one is that the constant dehumidifying cycle of the modern frig may dry out the cork, allowing air out and therefore ruining the wine.
The back of your closet, where nobody will disturb it and it’s dark will work nicely. (I live in an apartment and my long-term storage is under my bed.)
